Empowering Women Through Vocational Sewing Skills
Breaking barriers to economic independence in Delhi's urban communities

In India, women face significant barriers to economic empowerment due to restrictive cultural norms and a gender wage gap. PlanCare Foundation addresses this challenge by providing free sewing training to underprivileged women in Delhi's urban slums.
Our Sewing Training Centers equip women with essential vocational skills, from basic stitching to advanced garment construction, enabling them to achieve financial independence and self-reliance in an industry with sustainable demand.
Through our strategic partnership with Singer India Ltd., we provide state-of-the-art industrial sewing machines and a comprehensive curriculum that prepares women for both entrepreneurship and industry roles, creating pathways out of poverty.
From Basics to Professional Certification
Comprehensive skill development for sustainable livelihoods

What began with just ten learners in a simple room has evolved into a modern facility training over 100 women simultaneously, all made possible through our partnership with Singer India Ltd. This growth reflects the program's impact and community demand.
Our structured curriculum includes Needle Craft (mastering 22 essential stitches), Drafting & Paper Pattern (23 professional techniques), and Clothing Construction (creating 18 different garment types), alongside entrepreneurship and business management skills.
Every graduate receives industry-recognized certification from Singer India, significantly enhancing their employability and providing the credentials needed to start their own businesses or secure positions in Delhi's expanding textile and fashion industry.
Our Four-Week Professional Curriculum
Industry-standard training designed for entrepreneurial success

Our comprehensive four-week curriculum begins with essential sewing fundamentals before advancing to specialized skills. Week one covers hand stitching, machine operations, and basic techniques. Week two introduces students to fabric types, pattern reading, and projects like skirts and tote bags.
As training progresses, students master advanced skills in week three, including fitted blouse construction, quilting techniques, and installing zippers and buttons. The final week focuses on entrepreneurial development, business planning, and preparing for market entry.
This structured approach ensures each participant gains not only technical prowess but also the business acumen needed to succeed in Delhi's competitive market. The program culminates in a certification that significantly enhances employment opportunities and business prospects.
Singer India Partnership: Professional Tools for Success
Industry-leading equipment and certification for our students

PlanCare Foundation's partnership with Singer India Ltd. brings world-class industrial sewing machines to women who would otherwise never access such equipment. This collaboration ensures our students train on the same machines used in professional settings.
Beyond equipment, Singer India provides expert curriculum guidance, ensuring our training meets current industry standards. This strategic alliance allows us to offer formal Singer certification to graduates—a credential highly valued by employers throughout Delhi and beyond.
By covering certification examination fees for all participants, PlanCare removes financial barriers to professional recognition. This certification becomes a powerful tool for graduates, opening doors to employment opportunities and providing credibility for entrepreneurial ventures.
Creating Life-Changing Opportunities in Delhi
Supporting women's journey from training to independence

Our newest sewing center, inaugurated by MLA Shri Mahender Yadav of Vikas Puri Constituency and Councillor Shrimati Nirmala Yadav, represents a significant expansion of our impact in Delhi's underserved communities. This modern facility accommodates 100 students across four flexible daily shifts.
Each participant receives comprehensive support through their journey from skill-building to income generation. Beyond technical training, we focus on entrepreneurial mindset development, sustainable practices, and business fundamentals that prepare graduates for market success.
Upon completion, our graduates have multiple pathways: launching home-based businesses, securing employment in Delhi's garment industry, or continuing with advanced specialization courses. Many form cooperative groups, combining their skills to take on larger production orders.
